Chap. 2, "The Negro Race," discusses God’s covenant with Israel and the relations between the Hebrews and "Ham’s posterity," namely the Canaanites, Jebusites, Philistines, and Phoenicians, also the Egyptians and the Ethiopians. The author is quick to introduce Moses as "having married a black woman" and elevates him as the "ancient black hero" (p. 47) that led his people out of slavery. "Introduction" by William Howard Day.
